Over more than two decades, the International Chodiev Foundation has worked tirelessly to improve and transform the lives of young people around the world, managing more than 1,000 projects, spanning over ten countries worldwide, during our lifetime.
Established in 1996 with the initial objective of providing grants and scholarship programs to assist students of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), the International Chodiev Foundation has since evolved into a global philanthropic center for academic research, the arts and child-related causes.
Driven by our ambition to provide those in need with life-changing assistance, the mission of the International Chodiev Foundation is to give young people and adults the opportunity to realize their full potential, with the ultimate objective of building a peaceful society that is free from poverty and suffering.
The activities of the Foundation today comprise scholarship and trainee schemes, an extensive publishing program focused on scientific research, support for the arts, the development of international relations and the creation of humanitarian projects, including support for schools, orphanages and children’s medical centers.
The Foundation’s work is based on three central pillars:
Education – Supporting The Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO)
It is our firm belief that by facilitating access to education we can help to build a better society. Guided by this principle, the International Chodiev Foundation provides assistance to MGIMO with a view to unlocking the talent and intellectual potential of future generations. The key programs supported by the Foundation include scholarship and trainee schemes, the fostering of inter-university cooperation through internships, and academic research.
Inter-cultural relations – Forging ties between Russia and Japan
Culture is the universal foundation that reinforces mutual respect, understanding and friendship between people and countries alike. Forging cultural links between national academic institutions, governments and the wider community is key to developing more harmonized diplomatic relations between nations.
Having developed a love and enthusiasm for Japan, its culture and language while studying Japanese at MGIMO, Dr Chodiev made it his mission to improve the cultural and academic dialogue between Japan and Russia.
As a result, the International Chodiev Foundation is today widely engaged in popularizing Japanese culture in Russia and vice versa, in addition to supporting international research and educational placements for top MGIMO students in Japanese universities.
The International Chodiev Foundation believes that everybody has a right to medical care, fair treatment and equal opportunities. Our charity program aims to help those who by force of circumstances have found themselves in unfavorable and vulnerable situations.
The Foundation supports many children’s health charities, rehabilitation centers, orphanages, as well as foster homes.
